In 2001, several Legislative and Community leaders created the PHILLIP J. BRUTUS diversity award to honor citizens who have demonstrated a strong commitment to diversity in our State. The award is bestowed yearly upon one individual after a rigorous selection process. Very few Legislators have been honored with such recognition.
The award was created to recognize Rep. Brutus' tireless fight for equal rights and justice for all. He continues the fight to have every segment of our great State represented at all levels of government.
